Bylaws and Covenants

Restrictive Covenants set out the rules of the Homeowners Association (HOA) community.  They describe the requirements and limitations of what you can do with your property.  These are written legal obligations that are included in your deed.  The goal is to protect, preserve, and enhance property values in the community.

Included in Article VI of the Covenants are procedures for acquiring a building permit from the Architectural Control Committee.

Bylaws govern how the HOA operates.  They describe how to run the HOA as a business.

HOA rules cannot override applicable local or NC StatutesA rule that tries to override a state or local law is considered void and unenforceable because HOAs can’t compel their members to violate the law.
